Widespread shingle damage has been reported throughout Brambleton. Per the Design Guidelines, “An application is required for new or replacement roofing which in any way differs from that installed by the original builder. All roofing, including the design and material, shall be appropriate in appearance and quality to the style and design of the house.” Roof material, color, quality, and style must be compatible with other existing or proposed exterior colors and materials on the house. An application is necessary if you are installing materials that differ from what was originally provided by the builder. If they do not differ, then an application is not necessary. All materials on the roof must be the same; architectural shingles cannot be mixed with flat shingles, and multiple material colors cannot be used. If you are upgrading from a flat shingle to an architectural shingle, a design review application is not necessary so long as you use a color similar to what was provided by the builder and replace the entire roof. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any additional questions.
