COVENANTS

Is it Common Area? – When walking throughout Brambleton, it’s not always easy to determine if some areas are common areas or private property.  The covenants team has received several concerns from residents who have noticed an increase in people walking on and or through their yards. If you are unsure as to whether you are on common area or private property, you may enter the address in question on Loudoun County’s Mapping System and it will show the lot lines. You may also contact the Covenants team and they can guide you.

Snow Removal – The county requirement for removing snow from sidewalks adjacent to properties is six hours after the snow stops falling. If you are unable to shovel or would simply like to hire someone to assist you please refer to the Snow Blowing and Shoveling Provider Directory.

Covenants Meeting – The next meeting for application review will be on Monday January 12th at 7:00 PM. If you have any questions, please contact the Covenants Team.

Home Based Businesses – Home based businesses are permitted with the proper approval from the Board of Directors and the appropriate government agency. Such businesses should not generate significant traffic or parking issues by clients, customers or persons related to the business. This restriction and others are documented in Policy Resolution #10.

COUNTY CORNER

Stay Off Frozen Ponds – Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Loudoun County Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management are reminding residents to never walk on frozen streams, rivers and ponds.  “It is especially important for parents to speak with their children about the dangers of walking and playing on frozen ponds and rivers,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman. “If you live near a waterway, we ask that you remain watchful for children attempting to venture onto the ice,” Sheriff Chapman added. Many communities in Loudoun County strictly prohibit ice skating on frozen ponds. More winter safety and preparedness tips can be found online.
