Weekly Community News Bulletin - February 6, 2015



Grounds & Facilities Committee Finalizes Recommendations on New Amenities - The Developer has asked the Association to provide a recommendation on their preferences for the location of 2 proffered tennis courts and 4 proffered multipurpose courts. The G&F Committee has spent the last 3 months developing their recommendation so that the possible future amenities will positively impact the entire community. Their recommendation will go before the BCA Board at their February 10th meeting to be considered as the recommendation to the Developer. Residents with input on the final recommendation can submit that to the Association via email or attend the Resident Forum (time specific at 8:15 AM) portion of the February 10th Board meeting which will be held at the Brambleton Community Center located at 42645 Regal Wood Drive. All email submissions received before 5:00 PM on Monday, February 9th will be forwarded to the BCA Board at their Tuesday meeting. 

Your Opportunity to Impact the Future - Loudoun County is seeking input from citizens regarding the future of the Dulles community. The information gathered during this outreach process will be used to shape the future County services offered to our community. Brambleton Community Association encourages all residents to participate and share their ideas and suggestions with the County through resident and business surveys, social media, and in a unique online engagement forum called the Dulles Community Mind MixerBCA will host the Dulles Community Outreach Meeting on February 10, 2015 at the Brambleton Corner Clubhouse located at 42255 Palladian Blue Terrace.  Join us for the open house from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM with a formal presentation starting at 7:00 PM. The Outreach Team will introduce the purpose and goals to the community and provide an overview of the various methods available for residents to provide feedback on their vision of the future Dulles Community.  For more information and other methods to offer feedback, see the dedicated Dulles Community Outreach page.   

Resident BOD Meet-UpResident Directors Brian Viola, Tony Buffington and Tom Gurganous will host a resident meet-up next Thursday, February 12th at 7:00 PM in the Harris Teeter Starbucks. They will be happy to talk about the latest with the BCA Board of Directors and any issues or concerns you'd like to discuss.


Summer Sexy Showcase Health/Wellness/Beauty Fair - On Sunday March 8th, from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, We're Bringing Sexy Back to Brambleton with our Summer Sexy Showcase! Several vendors offering the latest in fitness, health, and beauty, such as Tan Organiq, Barre-Yo, Lulu Lemon/IVIVVA, Beauty Counter, Young Living Essential Oils, Bra Fittings among others will be there to give you tips to get ready for your best summer yet! Free Barre-X trial class will be offered immediately following the fair at 6:30 PM, as well as the Monday 3/9 Barre Bootcamp class at 6:00 PM, and the Barre Vix Mix class on Wednesday 3/11 at 6:30 PM. Comedy Night Tickets Halfway Sold Out! - Brian Parise will be returning on March 14th, along with several opening acts. Tickets are $25 per person and are available for purchase here. Register Your Kids to Train and Run a 5k in Brambleton! - Registration for the spring season of Brambleton Kids Run the Nation is open. This structured co-ed youth program (developed by the Road Runners Club of America) for children in K-8th grades encourages the enjoyment of running/fitness. Emphasis is on participation and developing a healthy lifestyle as opposed to competition. Focus will be on improving personal times while increasing endurance and distance. The program culminates with group participation in the Brambleton Ribbon Run on April 18th. Registration fees for the race are included in program fees and program participants will also receive a team shirt. Training practices will be held: Tuesdays, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. and Sundays, 4:00 -5:00 p.m. in Brambleton (at Legacy Elem. track/surrounding community). Revised Guidelines Open For Public Comment  - There are several revisions to the design guidelines that are open for public comment until February 15, 2015. Visit our website to publish your remarks. 

Holiday Decorations - Inspections for remaining holiday decorations will commence the week of February 2, 2015. Holiday decorations should be displayed no earlier than 30 days before the holiday and removed no later than 14 days thereafter. Please remove any holiday decorations if you have not already done so.

LCSO Announces 35th Citizens’ Police Academy - The 35th Citizens’ Police Academy will commence on March 11, 2015. Members of the class will participate in training classes taught by Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office personnel. The classes provide an overview of all the aspects of law enforcement within the agency. The free sessions will be held each Wednesday evening from March 11th through May 20th. Each session will be 2.5 hours in length and begin at 7:00 PM. Classes are open to Loudoun County residents over the age of 18. To enroll in the Citizen’s Police Academy, please contact Emir Bekric at the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office at (703) 737-8238, during normal business hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00PM.
