Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Community Trash Storage and Litter Issues – Windy weather has had a community wide impact and created significant wind-blown debris. Association crews will be making best efforts to clear Common Areas. To help with this problem, residents are requested to take action to clear wind-blown debris from their properties and to promptly store all waste containers after pickup to prevent property damage from containers. It is best practice to secure all trash in bags and be sure that lids are able to close tightly prior to set out. When the community is experiencing significant winds or other extreme weather events, place containers curbside on the morning of pick up and retrieve containers as soon after pick up as possible. Parks 3 & 4 Comprehensive Plan Update – The BCA Board of Directors continues to consider the overall future vision of the parks and residents’ feedback. As part of the process, they recently visited many of the park parcels during their April 4th meeting to better understand the benefits and impacts that possible enhancements would bring. They will discuss the Plan in further detail at their June 6th meeting.
Changes Coming to Legacy Park - BCA recently had an Urban Forest Assessment of Legacy Park performed. The assessment included plan objectives for improving the open green space, protecting and restoring areas directly adjacent to active play areas, relieving soil compaction, beginning to “re-build” soil in forested areas, protecting and caring for remarkable and historical white oak trees, removing any medium to high risk trees, and planting of perennials, shrubs, and trees as reforestation efforts in areas of need to curtail soil erosion, build a strong critical root zone, and enhance park aesthetics.
