AROUND BRAMBLETON

INSIDE BCA

Street Sweeping Continues - Rain this week has delayed completion of street sweeping. Work will resume next week and it is anticipated to be complete by the end of next week. Since the sand is heavy on residents are encouraged to park in their driveways until their street is swept and are asked to sweep or blow sand from any sidewalks ramps and driveway aprons into the street. Once a sweeper truck goes through a street, they will not return, so it is important that they have access to as much of the street and sand as possible.

Work of this nature typically begins in the early morning and is completed in the early afternoon. All work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled based upon weather or other unforeseen conditions. See the site map for the location of each section.

COVENANTS

Properly Securing your Trash and Recyclables
- Spring is a time of high winds which can cause havoc on trash and recyclables that have been placed curbside for collection.  It is important that these items are properly secured so that they don’t become wind-blown litter problems for your neighbors.  All trash should be placed in plastic bags and  contained within the Association provided Republic toters with fitted lids.  Recyclables such as boxes and milk jugs should be crushed or broken down and placed in the lidded recycle toter.  Taking these basic actions will greatly reduce the amount of wind-blown litter that results when these toters are blown over by the winds. . BCA staff will continue to proactively monitor and inspect for proper set out of trash and recycling with the goal to reduce the amount of litter that ends up blowing around the community.

Change in Pick Up Time for AAA - Due to the amazing growth in Brambleton,  occasionally AAA will need to adjust their route schedule which may affect the timing of trash or recycling retrieval.  Recycling pick up on Fridays for the  Ryan Road Property  or Pocosin Ct,  will now be earlier in the morning. If this affects you please take steps to have your recycling toter out early.

Yard Waste - Spring is also a time for yard work to be performed. Please refer to the website for proper disposal practices of yard waste.

Communication with the Association - When communicating with the Covenants team, it is very helpful to put the property address in the subject line.  Whether it is in regards to modifications to the lot or a violation letter received, the address (not the account number) is very helpful. Please contact the covenants team if you have any questions.

Mulch - Spring is a good time to add some fresh mulch to your beds and around trees. Be careful not to add too much mulch, as it is not good for the tree.

COUNTY CORNER

Steps To Help Prevent Crimes of Opportunity - As we enter the warmer months, Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is again reminding residents to never leave their cars unlocked while unattended, to remove all valuables from vehicles every time you leave the vehicle and to make sure that garages are secured. These steps can help prevent crimes of opportunity and reduce the changes that you will become a victim of crime.  Residents are encouraged to park vehicles in their garages, or in well-lit areas, and to activate your alarm system or use anti-theft devices; and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the Loudoun Sheriff's Office at 703-777-1021. In the unfortunate instance that you are a victim, LCSO offers an online reporting tool which can reduce the wait time involved with an officer response.

LCSO Notice: Shreveport & Evergreen Mills - The LCSO has informed the Association that they are seeing an increase in the number of drivers making illegal left turns onto Evergreen Mills Road from Shreveport Drive. Only right turns off Shreveport Drive are permitted at this intersection, and signage clearly indicates this.  LCSO plans to monitor this intersection more frequently and will begin issuing reckless driving citations to violators due to the nature of the violation.

Law Enforcement to Hold Locally Run Prescription Drug Take-Back Day - Local law enforcement agencies are partnering for the first locally run Prescription Drug “Take-Back” Day in Loudoun County. The event will be held Saturday, April 25th from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at six locations in Loudoun County.
