INSIDE BCA  

Brambleton Tennis Courts Maintenance Advisory – The tennis courts will be off line from October 17th – 19th for surface maintenance, weather permitting. Contact Dave Rusch to submit questions or concerns.   

Section Acceptance Inspections - The Association will be inspecting the common areas and related improvements for deficiencies in Section 19 (The Overlook), and Town Center Residential (Brownstones) in preparation of acceptance/turnover from the developer to the Association.  Residents with common area concerns in these areas of the community are asked to email CIP@Brambleton.org with a description of the concern and location.  Association staff will then inspect the concern and determine next action. 


LCSO & BCA Encourage a Proactive Approach to Safety & Security - Residents are encouraged to be aware of and actively engaged in safety and security in the community. “Say Something When You See Something” and contact the Sheriff’s Office to report suspicious activity and concerns.  For emergencies, 911 and text 911, the non-emergency number is 703-777-1021.  LCSO provides information via Alert Loudoun.  Subscribe directly for the most up to date and accurate information available.  Additional information and links can be found on the BCA website here

Brambleton’s Developer Continues to Perform Bond Release Activity Throughout the Community - Work typically begins in the early morning and is complete by the early afternoon.  In addition to the ongoing development in the community, for the upcoming week, bond release activity may occur in the following sections (see site map for locations):

  • Creighton Road from Olympia Drive to Evergreen Mills
  • Northstar Blvd from Creighton Road to Shreveport Drive

Kids Care Coat Drive Through October 20th - Brambleton Kids Care is hosting a coat drive for Mobile Hope.  If you have any gently used coats to donate, you can drop them off at the Welcome Center in the Town Center.  Mobile Hope is in need of all sizes (biggest need: ages 2 – 8 years old).  
 
FREE Pet First Aid Basics and CPR Class – October 22nd from 4pm -6pm at the Brambleton Corner Clubhouse.  Dulles South Animal Emergency will be providing a free discussion on how to recognize an emergency situation for your pets along with a CPR Demonstration.  Register HERE

ZombieRun – October 28th.  This Sunday is the last day for guaranteed t-shirt size for the Zombie Run! Sign-up today! Proceeds will benefit the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia. TICKETS HERE

 
Wine 101- Tasting and Take-Out – November 3rd – 7:00pm.  Would you like to know what wine goes well with your take-out food?  Join us for some small bites and the wines that pair well with them! Limited seats available. TICKETS HERE

LCPS, Briar Woods Highschool & PTSO seek support for Safe Routes To School – In recognition of the number of students/pedestrians crossing Belmont Ridge Road at the Briar Woods High School entrance, LCPS is considering submission of a grant request for funding to install a pedestrian bridge at this location to provide a safe route.  More information about the proposal can be found  here.  To submit your support, please email the principal of Briar Woods High School, Christopher.ORourke@lcps.org.  

COMMUNITY STANDARDS

Common Area Encroachment - Residents are reminded that per Brambleton’s Declaration, exclusive use of the Common Area is not permitted.  Examples include:

  • Changes to the common area without prior written approval from the Association.    
  • Storage of personal items or equipment in the common area, including items like woodpiles, play equipment, sheds, mulching, installing plant material, and cutting naturalized area.
  • Dumping or placing materials such as leaves, grass clippings or construction materials.

To remedy encroachments on Common Areas, BCA will take appropriate enforcement action, which may include, but is not limited to, assessment for the cost of removal or restoration, additional charges, or other sanctions permitted by the Association's governing documents or law.  Please contact the Covenants Advisors at 703-542-6263 or communitystandards@brambleton.org with any questions or to report a concern.

Candy Buy Back Program - all donations will be provided to troops via Operation Gratitude.  Little Smiles and Costa Family Dentistry will buy your Halloween candy for $1 per pound, up to 10 pounds, from November 1 - 17.

Registration for the Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition is now open! - Loudoun Youth, Inc. in partnership with Loudoun County Parks, Recreation & Community Services is supported by Loudoun County Public Schools and sponsored by the YouthQuest Foundation.
 
As individuals or as members of a team, Loudoun County middle and high school students are invited to create and implement plans to address issues and improve our community. The top ten teams win monetary prizes between $100-$1000. Registration closes December 15, 2017.  More information and registration is here

Voter Registration Deadline for November Election is October 16 - Applications may be submitted at the Voter Registration and Elections Office, 750 Miller Drive, S.E., Suite C, Leesburg, VA until 5:00 p.m. on October 16.  Applications may also be submitted via mail and must be postmarked no later than October 16.  Voter registration may also be submitted online at www.vote.virginia.gov up until 11:59 p.m. on October 16.  Voters that have already registered may also check their status at www.vote.virginia.gov.
