Brambleton Community Association is Seeking Qualified Candidates for Several Open Positions - BCA is currently hiring for the following positions: Full-time Facility & Grounds Supervisor, Communications Coordinator, Part-time Seasonal Events Assistant and Bus Driver for the community bus.  For detailed job descriptions and more information, click here.

Development Activity Update - Brambleton’s developer has advised our office that bond release construction work will begin, or continue, in the sections noted below. The type of work to be done may include asphalt repair; concrete marking, break and repair; marking, or digging and installation of street lights. Work of this nature typically begins in the early morning and is completed by the early afternoon. All work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled based upon weather or other unforeseen conditions. See the site map for the location of each section. For the week of 4/27-5/1 the following activity is planned:

  • Section 15 - Bond Release activity
  • Town Center Residential  - Asphalt trail work
  • Section 12 & 18 turf repair in street light installation areas 

Our office works closely with the Developer’s office to include information the Friday Flash; however, with the unpredictable pace of these activities, it is not always possible.  We do serve as the liaison to the Developer’s office so if you have questions contact us via email or Submit a Request on our website. 

Utility Infrastructure Update - Brambleton Community Association is hosting an open meeting for Brambleton residents with Loudoun County Supervisor Janet Clarke and representatives from Novec and Dominion Virginia Power regarding the substation planned off of Evergreen Mills Road and the overhead transmission lines. The meeting is to be held on April 30, 2015 at the Brambleton Corner Clubhouse located at 42255 Palladian Blue Terrace, Brambleton, VA 20148 and will start at 7:00 PM.   

Northstar Boulevard to be Closed to Through Traffic Beginning May 5th - All four lanes of Northstar Blvd. will be closed as detailed in this map to allow for construction of the Creighton Road extension to the west and to build pedestrian underpasses prior to the opening of the newly approved Elementary School (ES-27) in 2016. The goal is to reopen all lanes on Northstar Boulevard to through traffic before school starts again in Fall 2015.

Saturday Boot Camp Tomorrow - Strength Saturdays with Fitness Image Results resume tomorrow morning from 7:00 - 8:00 AM at the Community Center parking lot. Get ready for a great workout, and sign up here.

Red White & Bram - June 27 - 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM - Mark your calendars for one of Brambleton’s favorite events and one of the best fireworks displays in Loudoun County! Tickets are $5 per person (2 and under are free). We will have food trucks, beer/wine, dunk tanks, live music, backyard games and more! Tickets available at the gate.

  • 3rd Annual Bake-Off Registration is now open. Register HERE
    • 4 Categories: Cakes, Cupcakes, Cookies/Bars, Pies
    • Participants can enter into two categories but only one entry per category
    • Grand Prize = $100 Gift Card and Brambleton Prize Pack

    • Desserts must be dropped off at the Welcome Center between 5:30 - 6:00 PM on June 27th

Barre Yo for Brambleton & Ashburn Road Runners - Please save the date for Sunday, May 3rd at 6:30 PM. Jennifer Wysocki, Brambletonian and founder/owner of Barre Yo, invites all runners to try one of her classes for free. The class will be held at the Brambleton Corner Clubhouse. Barre Yo is a fusion of barre, pilates, and yoga — a great workout and a lot of fun!  Just bring a mat and a set of light weights. 

Brambleton Brew Fest Last Chance Early Bird - Buy your tickets now using discount code BEER10 for 10% off the ticket price. The discount code will be good through April 30th.  Brambleton Brew Fest presented by Lost Rhino Retreat will be held on May 30th from 1:00 - 6:00 PM at the Brambleton Town Center.  It will feature over 25 local craft breweries with two brews each, food trucks, live music by Hypnotic Willie and Crowded Streets.  For more information about the festival, please like our Facebook page and purchase tickets online.

CPR/AED Certification Class - On Sunday, May 17th from 1:00 - 5:00 PM, the AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED class will cover adult, child, and infant CPR/AED and choking rescue. This class is perfect for parents, expecting parents, lifeguards, babysitters, daycare workers, nannies, etc. The class will be held at Brambleton Corner Clubhouse  42255 Palladian Blue Terrace. Please register and pay ($85.00/person) online under the class schedule and registration page. Space is limited. Registration will close on May 11th. E-mail Laura Punaro, RN, BSN or call at 703-304-3338 with any questions. 
 
Conquer Your Camera -- A Beginners Guide to Photography with Your DSLR - Did you get a "fancy camera" to take better pictures, but your images are still not exactly what you'd hoped for? Learn the basics of photography, what all the buttons and options on your camera mean, and get tips for how to take better photos. The photography workshop will be held on May 3rd from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at the Community Center (42645 Regal Wood Drive). Cost is $135. To register, click here.

Rock Ridge High School presents The Beauty and The Beast - Be our guest for a magical evening with Belle, the Beast and all the enchanted objects in our castle. Join us as we transport you to our magical world. For all ages. Tickets are on sale online. $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

Join the MOMS Club of Ashburn - Broadlands/Brambleton Chapter for an open house on Friday, May 8th at the Community Center (42645 Regal Wood Drive). Yard Waste Disposal 
- Brambleton Yard Waste stickers are available at the BCA Management Office. These stickers are free to all residents to distinctly and uniformly mark designated yard debris containers. Stop by the BCA Management Office, located in the Town Center, and pick up your stickers today.

Residents that do not wish to use a dedicated yard debris container may opt to use either brown paper bags or clear plastic bags. The Association's contractor may not pick up yard debris in other styles of bags. Please be reminded that yard waste recycling collection occurs on Tuesdays and that yard waste should not be placed out on days other than Tuesday. Yard Waste consists of grass clippings, leaves, branches in small bundles that are less than 4 feet long and no more than 50 lbs. Sod, dirt, mulch, rocks, bricks or other construction debris are not accepted.

Property Maintenance Standards - In the continuing effort to maintain Brambleton as one of the most architecturally pleasing and well maintained communities in this area, Brambleton has developed a standard for Property Maintenance and regularly performs proactive inspection campaigns to ensure the community standards are being upheld.
 
Proactive Inspections - There are currently ongoing inspections for proper operation of carriage lights, and comprehensive inspections in Sections 2 and 3. Proactive grass inspections will commence the week of April 27th. Residents are reminded of the responsibility to keep the grass at a height of no more than six inches. If you are traveling, please take steps to ensure that the property is being attended to.

The Brambleton Farmer’s Market will open in just 9 days! Please plan to join us on opening day, Sunday, May 3rd from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Chef Jim of The Yummy Pig & Fusions Cuisine will be on hand for a cooking demonstration! Music is being provided by Queens Over Kings, a cover band that will provide a lively atmosphere.  More than a dozen vendors will be present to bring you fresh local produce, plants, baked goods, beeswax products, dog treats and much more! Free Safety Shred Returns to Brambleton - The Brambleton Town Center invites you to a free safety shred on Saturday, April 25th from 8:30 – 11:30 AM. The shred will be located in the parking lot behind Fox Cinemas (at Northstar & Soave Drive). The truck-mounted shredder can accept all types of paper documents, manila folders (even those with rubber bands, staples, paper clips or other small fasteners). Again this year we will have the truck to shred hard drives with a $10 charge per each hard drive. Due to limited capacity, shredding is restricted to individual use only, with a limit of 5 boxes per vehicle. We recommend you arrive early, as we’ve reached capacity before the end of the event in years past (the shredder can handle as much as 5 tons of paper). COUNTY CORNER


New Traffic Pattern for Gum Spring Road Between Evergreen Mills Road & Route 50 - A major change in the traffic pattern for Gum Spring Road between Evergreen Mills Road and Route 50 is expected to occur on or about Wednesday, April 29, 2015.  The existing section of Gum Spring Road adjacent to the Stone Spring Emergency Center and the Stone Spring hospital currently under construction will close to through traffic, immediately beyond the entrance to the emergency center.  All traffic will use a new section of Stone Springs Boulevard on the north side of Route 50.  Also, southbound traffic on Gum Spring Road will be transitioned to the new road section which extends to Route 50 across from Stone Springs Boulevard. Detour signs and message boards will be in place to advise motorists of this change.  A detailed map of the area, with the new route outlined, is available online

Law Enforcement to Hold Locally Run Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Tomorrow - Local law enforcement agencies are partnering for the first locally run Prescription Drug “Take-Back” Day in Loudoun County. The event will be held Saturday, April 25th from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at six locations in Loudoun County. The sites include, the Eastern Loudoun Sheriff’s Station; the Dulles South Public Safety Center; the Lansdowne Public Safety Center; the Leesburg Police Department; the Middleburg Police Department and the Purcellville Police Department. Dulles Community Outreach Project - The last community work session will be held next Thursday, April 30th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Mercer Middle School. At the sessions, stakeholders will participate in the following:
  1. A staff presentation on survey, focus group, and electronic outreach results
  2. Small group discussions about survey themes
  3. Interactive community design using study area maps
At these meetings, stakeholders will formulate the recommendations forming the bulk of the final consensus report presented to the Board of Supervisors. Click here  to view the work session schedule.
