NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS

Driver & Pedestrian Safety Reminders - A neighbor recently wrote to request that BCA share these reminders in an effort to encourage a focus on courtesy and safety in the new year. While these suggestions were primarily related to activity in and around the Town Center, where the Association does not have authority to take enforcement action, they also apply throughout the community. When traveling and parking, please consider the following:

  • Slow down and obey traffic laws.
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Walk on sidewalks or trails.
  • Be conscious of cars and other people; avoid using phones when driving or walking in busy areas.
  • Wear high visibility clothing or items when walking in the dark.
  • Make eye contact with drivers to be sure that they see you before crossing.
  • Avoid parking in areas posted “no parking”.
  • Park with care, avoid blocking sidewalks or lanes of travel; do not double park.
  • Refrain from idling in front of heavy traffic areas.

BCA encourages everyone to remember that most of the people we encounter driving and walking throughout the community are neighbors and friends, and requests that you consider making an extra effort to extend courtesy and act in a safe manner in the new year.
