Brambleton Update

Community Standards Update: July 24, 2018

We want to share the following timely updates and resources related to common concerns in the community. If you need more information or have questions, please contact us at or call 703-542-6263.

Dogs Off Leash - There have been several reported sightings of pet owners allowing their dogs to run off-leash, especially on Brambleton trails. In Loudoun County, dogs are not permitted to roam free without a leash, and pet owners are required to pick up after their pets. To report animals running at large or pet owners not cleaning up after their pets, please contact Loudoun County Animal ControlBrambleton’s Policy Resolution #7, Pet Policies, outlines both the grounds for complaint and finding of a community nuisance as well as the procedures for solving pet problems. We encourage residents to talk to each other before escalating concerns to the County or Association. To discuss your concern with an Association team member, please contact

Gutter Extension Reminder - HOA approval is required for all downspout extensions, which must be buried in such a manner to adequately manage runoff and not impact the drainage on adjoining properties and open spaces, including common areas. All drainage must terminate within your property line. Above-ground extensions of downspouts are not permitted. More information regarding Brambleton Design Guidelines can be found here. An application for an exterior modifications and FAQ’s can be found here.

Irrigation Systems - Irrigation systems require approval by the Covenants Committee. Submission requirements include a copy of the recorded plat showing the location of the irrigation heads. When installing irrigation systems, please be aware that the front property lines of most lots do not extend to the public street and are typically located a few feet behind the curb and gutter or public sidewalk. More information about irrigation system guidelines can be found here. If you have any questions, please contact or call 703-542-6263.

Manage Your Trash - Please be considerate and take pride in your community by not leaving trash cans out for days on end. Trash containers and recycling bins can be placed at the curb no earlier than 6 PM on the evening before the scheduled pickup day. All containers should be removed following pickup on the same day of the scheduled trash removal.

  • Tuesdays: Trash (all year) and yard waste (March - December) pickup
  • Fridays: Trash, recycling, and scheduled bulk pickup

Replacement container requests, bulk pickup scheduling, and service concerns can be submitted via email to Additional information can be found on our website here.

Curb Your Paint - This is a friendly reminder that Republic Services does not collect latex paint in liquid form. For paint to be collected curbside, paint cans must be completely dry or the paint inside solidified. To solidify paint, you must do the following:

  1. Add an absorbent material such as kitty litter, sawdust, or newspaper. A commercial waste paint hardener may also be available at home improvement stores.
  2. Once the paint has fully dried, the paint container may be placed at the curb with regular household waste for disposal.

Additionally, Republic Services can collect only latex paint. Oil-based paints and stains must be taken to a Loudoun County Household Hazardous Waste event for disposal. More information about these events can be found here.
