Verizon ONT & Wiring Conversion Update - Verizon has launched an infrastructure upgrade campaign in Brambleton. This work is required to enable all BCA homes to access the enhanced internet speeds that will be provided by the new agreement. To ensure an orderly, timely, and fair process for all, BCA has requested that Verizon start in the oldest sections of Brambleton and progress to the newer sections. This work is project to occur through Q3 2019. It has been determined that Verizon will provide door hangers to homes by section, with the request that the resident call to make an appointment. As an incentive to call and make the appointment, once the work is completed for that individual home, the internet speed will be upgraded to 100/100 Mbps. There is not a published timeline for sections or individual streets at this time. Upon learning from Verizon that they have received calls from residents who have not yet received their door hanger for an appointment, BCA has requested that Verizon decline to process out-of-order requests until the necessary infrastructure work is completed. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions or need more information.
Now is the Time to Winterize Your Home - Residents should take action to winterize irrigation systems by draining and turning off exterior faucets in order to help prevent costly damage from pipe bursts due to freezing water. More timely tips for winterizing your home can be found here and here.
Expecting Holiday Package Deliveries? - If you’re not home to receive packages, consider asking a neighbor to keep an eye out and collect packages for you. Alternatively, have deliveries made to an attended location – your office, or perhaps a neighbor’s home. Many retailers offer in-store pickup, in-vehicle pickup, or locker services. Furthermore, USPS offers Informed Delivery, and don’t forget that the UPS store at the Brambleton Town Center offers Mail & Package Receiving Services. In the unfortunate circumstance that a delivered package goes missing, residents are encouraged to file reports directly with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. For most instances, an online report can be filed. If you observe suspicious activity, please contact LCSO immediately by calling 703-777-1021 or call 911 in an emergency.
